People increasingly ask how content is made. Whilst this is not a simple question, it is a very important one, and we want to use this page to answer it openly.
Using this website as an example, AI is intertwined with humans throughout our whole content production flow. We use it, to various extents, in drafting, clarifying, formatting and checking our content. Nothing is 100% AI generated but most things are not 100% human generated either.
Our attitude is that generative AI is a tool that helps us share what we actually feel is worth sharing and is backed by our thoughts and opinions. At Kaiku, we take ownership of the content no matter how it has come to be and we hope that it reads as such.
How this page was built
Labelling content as "AI generated" or "human generated" doesn't really work. So instead, here's a look behind the scenes, using this page as the example. It's typical of how all our content comes together.
1. An idea in Slack. It started with a thread suggesting we be open about where we use AI.
2. A rough draft. One of us wrote a first version in Obsidian.
3. Iterating with AI. We worked the draft through Claude to tighten the wording and catch errors, until we were happy with it.
4. A Linear issue. The content became an issue in Linear, which drives our development work.
5. Built by an agent, reviewed by agents and people. The issue was refined, picked up by an agent, implemented and reviewed. Depending on how pedantic our review agents were feeling, some wording may have changed along the way.
6. Live. The page was merged, and here it is.
